Description

FormsByState turns a plain-language request into a finished US legal document that matches the law of the state it is for. Twenty-two document types are available in all 50 states and DC: residential, commercial, room-rental and sublease agreements, rental applications, eviction notices, lease-termination letters, bills of sale, promissory notes, NDAs, independent-contractor and employment agreements, LLC operating agreements, powers of attorney, last wills, construction contracts, change orders, subcontractor agreements, lien waivers, certified payroll (WH-347), pay stubs and invoices. The state-law layer is the point. `get_state_rules` returns the deadlines, caps and mandatory disclosures that apply to a document in a state — notice periods, security-deposit limits, late-fee caps, required addenda — each with a statute citation and a link to the primary source, so the assistant can answer "how many days' notice in California?" without guessing. `validate_document` checks the answers against those same rules before anything is rendered. Output: `render_document` returns a PDF or Word file. Free tier, no key: 3 watermarked previews per day plus a link that opens the same answers in the web wizard, where the clean file is a one-time payment ($0–$19, no subscription). A developer key removes the watermark and the daily limit. FormsByState sells self-help document templates. It is not a law firm and the documents are not legal advice.
